I hit send before I entered text. Sorry. I understand that HyperCard has colour problems. (Or had).
Were these addressed in version 2.4?
Cheers
Gene

I'm not sure what the problems would have been. HyperCard never has had native color, but aside from the unofficial Colorize HC we talked about, there is AddColor, which was the official add-on that came in with version 2.3 I think.

Whatever the case, v2.4.1 I believe is the latest version, and there won't be any versions after that one. So, if there is a particular color issue you would need to find a work around to it.

BTW, this video may help "unravel the mystery of HyperCard":

I found that 2.4 has little or no third party literature. When I purchased 2.4, I was fortunate that it came with a lit pack.
The video shows early HyperCard. I`ve been busy. I have acquired a decent library of HyperCard OS and lit.
Plus, I have a Power PC/120 for the early versions,an all in one for a little later(With OS 9.2.2),a Quicksilver G4(Tiger classic,
maxed ram &dual processor),a MDD G4 Tiger/classic/dual processor),and an eMac dual processor G4 classic. I think I will
be able to load all versions I have. But,what shall I keep in what computer? Time to crack the books. ( Did I mention I have
MacAcademy VHS HyperCard training videos?)

The video you reference has a short appearance with Gary Kildall. CP/M was his claim to fame, among others. I still have
my Commodore 128 with CP/M. Gary was a genius, but not a business person with the junk yard dog aggressiveness of
Bill Gates. He loved programming challenges, but did not have the business vision that Bill has. He might have grown up a bit,
had he not died at age of 52. How? That is shrouded in mystery.
Cheers
Thanks

It also features Bob Stein (at around 18:30), a friend of mine who I moved to the US to work for. The video was recorded about two years before I first met Bob.

No mystery about Gary Killdall, he drank himself to death. If it wasn't the hit on the head, it would have been cirrhosis of the liver.

It is too bad he went flying the day IBM came around. He could have been richer than Bill Gates.

Too bad. I found his OS interesting. He was his own enemy. Brilliant though he was, he left no legacy. Bill will. I have not made Bill a hero of mine, but he did
keep his mind on the ball. While Gary was immersed in his own world,Bill saw an opportunity. What was that? He bought an early version of DOS. He got into
bed with IBM,and then lept out when the time was right. He made business decisions that brought him rapid success. Not everything he decided was to
"Win Friends and Influence People",nor did Steve. For both,"Business is Business."
I feel similarly. LiveCode will, I believe,be successfully marketed. Until it is, I will continue using HC in ways that benefit my own CODB.
By the way, In case I haven`t mentioned it, I`,m a native Alabamian, now a citizen of NY. My house was not damaged during Sandy, but heavily damaged during Irene. Power restoration is still ongoing here. Long Island,NYC,and coastal NJ was a tragedy. The damage is almost unbelievable.

Cheers
