This is a very good Tidbits article about the LiveCode Kickstarter:

There are some pretty high-level people supporting it. Think of a pledge
as a one-time contribution to a forever free HyperCard on steriods. I
hope you will all participate, an open source version of this mature and
stable product would be huge.
