is there any way I can open a pdf file stored in OSX from a hypercard list field in OS9 in Sheepshaver (Chubby Bunny)….using a one-click script in OS9 field. Large pdfs stored in Sheepshaver (ChubbyBunny version) can be a bit clunky to manipulate. If stored in OSX they are much easier to scroll through when opened in OSX but I need to copy paste filename from my OS9 fields into OSX Spotlight, which can be a pain if I want to quickly search thru some pdfs to find the bit of info I need… just too many proceedures to bring up each pdf.

I don't think it's possible -- or at least I haven't found a way to do it.

I've found only two ways to communicate data out of SheepShaver: the
shared folder, and the clipboard. And, the clipboard isn't very
reliable.

There's a feature in Hypercard that I've never used that might work:

send <expression> to program <programName> [with|without] reply]

I would be very surprised if this works. And, please reply to the
list if you can make it work.

Good luck.
