Hi all,

Recently I was completing a survey about LiveCode. Whenever I am doing surveys about LiveCode I try to mention my interest / usage of HyperCard - mainly to ensure that HyperCard import support does not get removed in any future release. I got to the second last page, and was surprised by a question directly asking about HyperCard:

Q45. Have you previously used HyperCard:
I have heard of HyperCard and used it
I have heard of HyperCard and not used it
I have not heard of HyperCard
If you want to complete the survey you can access it through: http://livecode.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8404b344b09103bf489dd8a9a&id=ab53f129e3&e=e411588603 http://livecode.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8404b344b09103bf489dd8a9a&id=ab53f129e3&e=e411588603

Perhaps we can all surprise the LiveCode Team by showing them that HyperCard users form an important part of their user base?

Andrew

P.S. To Alain and others, waiting for me to release the "recreated" Pantechnicon: Sorry! I *am* still working on it. I had hoped to get it finished by the end of April, but just before I released it I found some major problems with the Artefacts, which prompted me to redo all of the handlers, stacks and XCMDs. I started that late April, but then exams got in the way for a month and I underestimated the amount of problems that were present. I am now re-uploading all the Artefacts as files and descriptions from the America Online archive that was discussed here a few years back (there will now be a few thousand stacks compared to the few hundred that were previously available). Hopefully in a few weeks I will have it ready for everyone here to see / download.

Andrew.

I was at the LC unConference in March. Fully half the attendees were avowed HC'ers. Kevin Miller was there; he knows it.

This survey is old. Not that it would not be fun to fill it out again...

I'd encourage everyone to fill it out. They are right at the point where
they are deciding what users want to see in the product. Your input will
guide development.

Im not interested in the commercial product so this survey is useless to
me. It is NOT about the community edition.

Development of each "type" of release of LC runs along identical paths. What happens to the commercial version happens to the community, and vice versa. I am going to fill out the survey. Again.

Right, both editions are built from the same code base so they'd have to be identical. The only difference is the omission of password protection for scripts, since all code built with the community edition has to be open source.

The open source license also is incompatible with Apple's, so you can't distribute to the App Store if you build with Community, but that has nothing to do with the code base or feature set.
