Hi folks,

any of you using SheepShaver on El Capitan to run HyperCard? Seems mine suddenly stopped working. I don't remember if it's been broken since the El Capitan update, or if it worked there previously. Any of you know a solution? A different download or so?

Cheers,

There is a thing called Chubby Bunny, which is a preconfigured version of SheepShaver, that includes the OS 9 ROM. It is quite amazing. It also continues to work in El Capitan.

Here’s a direct link to the zip file:

http://jon.brazoslink.net/jlg/COIV4.0.1+.zip

When you run it you will need to right-click/Open, because it doesn’t have the right certification. You only have to do that the first time. You may get asked if you want to erase a 384 MB hard drive, that should be ok to do. One of the volumes you will see is named Unix. That points to /Users/Shared, making it very easy to get files into OS 9.

I've been following this sequence with much interest. I have been
running SheepShaver quite successfully under 10.6.8. I plan some time
soon (for some value of soon) to update to 10.8, but I need to know
whether my SheepShaver will continue to run. Any help will be welcome.

Also, what is the relationship between SheepShaver and "Emulator for
Mac OS 9 in OS X updated for Mountain Lion" on the MacWindows page? I
have zero interest in Windows, actually less than that.
