[HC] OT: copying Apple ][ floppy disks
(Msg 1 of 5)

Years ago I had an LCIII set up with an Apple //e card and a floppy drive. I copied all my important disks to a ProDos partition on the internal hard drive but never got around to copying the image files off of it to an external hard drive.

That drive has now failed and I need to do it all over again. The problem is that I can't find the special cable for the //e card. I think I know where it is but I can't get to it. Is anyone out there set up to do this?

Bummer.

I do know that Jason Scott of texfiles.com has been imaging a large number
of disks <http://ascii.textfiles.com/archives/5180>; that people sent him,
to upload to the Internet Archive (mainly original software disks). He has
a pretty good knowledge of transfer methods, so might be able to help you
out. His email address is on the page that I linked to.

Thanks for the info. I'll check into it more deeply when I have the time. I've searched everywhere but can't find the cable to the card.
